Everyone desires a safe and tolerant space where they can be themselves to fully self-develop. We desire to enhance the workplace and community in terms of ethnic minority and vulnerable groups. This workshop will uncover Stereotypes and give participants the opportunity to evaluate where we as humans have a tendency to unconsciously form stereotypes which engender prejudices and discrimination. In this workshop you will identify and evaluate where you might be operating with stereotypes through communicating, gaining new perspectives and the ability to change prejudices, live tolerantly and have a more diverse life.

To help manage negative outcomes due to bias, we must: Notice and examine our biases for completeness and accuracy. Choose effective behaviors. In this workshop you will learn about the different types of bias and how they impact our workplaces and community. When we are more aware we can create positive change.

In this workshop you will learn about microagressions; where they show up in the workplace, how to recognize harm, the barriers to helping, reactive opportunities, and proactive opportunities.

This workshop will show participants where there is a lack of productive discourse around issues of diversity and the role of identity in social relationships, both on a micro (individual) and macro (communal) level. The workshop will provide historical context about the politics of identity and the dynamics of power and privilege and help build greater self-awareness.
